February Edit

This is another one of my moany posts where yet again I am going to 'thank god its Friday' tomorrow! Recently I am not sleeping well, I really don't know why but its making me really tired throughout the day. I wake up in the middle of the night for no reason and lie there wide awake for hours. My eyes are in need of some real TLC.

This week I have been rushed off my feet doing many things that aren't even worth explaining to you all about (boring stuff!) The only thing however you may be interested in is that I have eaten my body weight in Kinder Buenos since I last posted to you all.... I blame London Fashion Week entirely for giving so many away free.

A selection of Freebies from LFW.

I can't believe that tomorrow it is going to be March, this year is already going so quickly! February went by like a flash, I guess as its a shorter month but still, it will be Christmas before we know it at this rate.

I made a cheeky order from ASOS this week. I thought I would treat myself as after all it is payday! (wooo!) I brought a pair of dungarees I had been dying to get for a while... they were on my last weeks weekly want (click here too see.) I think that dungarees really are making a return into spring/summer trends this year. They are quite a vintage effortless look to pull of, but yet can be made glam just by adding a smart shirt and a heel.
I am going to be doing a full outfit post on them over the weekend, but until then... here is a cheeky snap shot for you all. Apologies for the 'selfie in mirror' photo!

Dungarees - ASOS

This photo doesn't show to you properly what they look like on, I personally think they are too big but they don't have the size smaller so I'm just guna keep them anyway.

As always I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions.
Thank you for reading :)

Spring Sunshine

It was just about a week ago now these photos were taken. We had such a lovely sunny Sunday in Bristol, me and my boyfriend decided to go on a walk to wear of our hangovers and enjoy the sites of Bristol.
We went to this big park called Ashton Court which is near to the centre of Bristol. Its built on a hill and if you walk to the top you have such lovely views of Bristol. You can see for miles on a clear day like when we were there. Its also home to about several hundred dear which are enclosed off in there own area.
All photos are courtesy of my boyfriend - Jack.

Sorry this has been a fairly short post, I plan on doing a proper outfit post later on in the week. Would love to hear your thoughts and opinions as always.

Thank you for reading :)

Weekly Want #7: Natalie Wear

So that time of the week is here again, and no, sadly its not Friday yet. My weekly wants are here! They aren't from the usual places as recently I have found some new Australian brands leading on from my post about Sabo Skirt (click here to see.)

I was followed on Twitter by a Australian brand called Natalie Wear (click here to view their site) immediately I went straight on to their website, and found some gorgeous clothing. Although there isn't a massive amount of variety thats what makes the brand that little more unique, its less of a fast fashion site and more of a site which sells selected one offs and key pieces. I don't know how I stopped myself from buying the whole site there and then. I'm a massive fan of there scallop floral print shorts, but these were two of the items which caught my eye the most. Obviously they had to be the most expensive!

Pearl Dress - Natalie Wear
Price - $210

This dress caught my eye mainly because of the detailing. The whole dress is embellished in little pearls, its absolutely gorgeous. I would team it with a pair of bright coloured heels and matching clutch, I'm thinking it would be great for wedding I am going to in June.

Mint Split Top - Natalie Wear
Price - $39.00

There is something about this top which I had to do a double take on. I really like the dip dye look this Spring, and this top has that trend to a tea! I love the mint mixed in with the white. Looks so good with the floral shorts as well. I think it would be a really easy top to wear, and I'd get good use out of it in the lead up to spring/summer.

The Natalie Wear website even shows you 'style tips' for each item giving you ideas on how to wear the garments, and what to wear it with. There is also a great blog on the site which I thoroughly enjoyed reading through.

As always I would love to hear your opinions. What do you think of the items I have picked? Have any of you brought anything from there before?

Thanks for reading :)

London Fashion Weekend - 22/02/13 - Twenty8Twelve

As you are all fully aware I was lucky enough to go to London Fashion Week on Friday 22nd February. The whole day was a brand new experience to me, and I really would encourage anyone who hasn't been to go if they get a chance. The day I went was absolutely freezing - I'm sure you can tell how cold I look in my photo! It even started snowing when I got there.

Just after I got to Somerset House I met my friend Jennie, and we headed straight to the show to get good seats. I saw the Twenty8Twelve show, formerly created by sisters Sienna and Savannah Miller. The clothes for Spring/Summer 13' looked incredible on the catwalk - its all inspired by dolls, the prints and colours are so wearable and great for the lead up to spring. I had my eye on a playsuit and a pair of shoes, can't wait to buy them!

I got an amazing goodie bag designed by Radley, it had goodies in it from the likes of Elizabeth Arden to Label.M. There was also lots of gorgeous men who were handing out free Muller yogurts, Kinder Buenos and Diet Coke throughout the day. Jennie got her nails painted free courtesy of Vodafone who sponsored the whole event, and I blagged myself a free back and neck massage!

Throughout the day I was approached by several photographers, bloggers and college students who asked for my photo - I have to say I felt very flattered! I will post the photos they took when they are sent to me.

These are a selection of my photos from throughout the day - I had an absolute nightmare and my phone died, but luckily my friend was on hand to take photos for me, so a selection of these photos are hers and some are mine. All I have to say is thank god for the Vodaphone mobile charging station!

The Nail Varnish Vending Machine - Courtesy of Vodafone.

Head to toe in Topshop, other than my Shoes which are Jeffrey Campbell, and Blazer which is American Apparel. Like I said before you can tell how cold it was just by looking at my face! Defiantly wishing I wore more layers!

As always I would love to hear your thoughts on my outfit, and hear if any of you were lucky enough to go to London Fashion Week as well. I love hearing your comments.

Thank you for reading :)

Weekly Want #6

This weeks weekly want is to no surprise a selection from Topshop and ASOS!
The dungarees on ASOS are so lovely, I reckon they would be great for spring and a key piece this season. Teamed with a cute printed t-shirt or blouse I would be set to go!

The Blazer from Topshop is one which arrived in my store this week. The colour is a pastel pinky/orange which again is perfect for the lead up to spring. It could be worn smart or casual.

Dungaree - ASOS
Price - £45.00

Blazer - Topshop
Price - £50.00

As always I love hearing you opinions on my posts. I would love to know what you think of my weekly wants this week.
I will be sharing with all of you tomorrow my outfit for London Fashion Week for Friday!

Thanks for reading.

Roses are Red

Todays outfit is probably the most boring of my outfit post as of yet, looking at the photos now it really does lack colour which really isn't like me at all, but I promise my next outfit post won't be.

At the moment I'm really liking the length of my hair, it used to be so short, like by my ears but its growing really fast which I'm happy about. I'm thinking about adding some lowlights or some sort of colour to it? Any suggestions? I have previously had it dip-dyed so I don't want to do that again especially considering everyone now has dip-dyed hair. I would like to maybe go a shade or two lighter ready for summer.

Its just my luck that on the week of London Fashion Week that I get conjunctivitis. I've been trying to wear as little make up as possible on my face to avoid it getting worse and in hope that it all clears up by Friday. I still haven't even looked in my wardrobe or even considered what I am going to wear yet, so I need to finally sus out what an earth I am going to wear.... Ideas on a postcard please!

Jumper - Ebay
Shorts - Vintage
Belt - Borrowed from a friend (never given back!)
Coat - Topshop
Tights - Primark
Shoes - Ebay
Rings - All a selection of Vintage

These are the roses that my boyfriend got me for valentines day, I think they are still so red and full of life, which sadly can't be said for all flowers you buy from a shop these days.

I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions as always :)
I love getting comments from all of you lovely lot.

Thanks for reading.

New Discovery: Sabo Skirt

I discovered this Australian clothing brand called Sabo Skirt about a month ago now, and I just have to share it with you. All of their clothes are just to DIE for!
The designs and styles of their items are so unique, its that type of brand that is really exclusive to Australia, but I am just lucky enough to have found out about it. And now I'm sharing it with all of you! When I get paid I am defiantly going to be treating myself to something from there.

Click here to see their website.

Although many of the items seem quite pricey, when you covert it from Australian Dollars into Pounds it works out a lot more reasonable. They ship to England for a flat rate of 15 AUS Dollars which works out to be less than £10.

I have chosen 8 of my favourite picks from the site;

Price - $16

Price - $52

Price - $62

Price - $48

Price - $52

Price - $58

Price - $58

I would love to know what you think of Sabo Skirt. Have any of you brought anything from there before? Or if you have discovered any new clothing brands recently I would love to hear about them.

Thank you for reading.

News Update

Okay, so I changed the name of my blog from emmas-box to the fashion underdog just over a month ago I guess. I really like the name of it and think it sounds quite catchy, however I really want my name to match my twitter and my instagram as well, so I have just changed the URL of my blog, which is now;

Blogger - www.fashion-underdog.blogspot.co.uk

Twitter - fashionunderdog

Instagram - fashionunderdog

The only annoying thing is that the name I really wanted was already taken on Blogger, hence why there is a dash.

I also would just like to take the time to thank those of you who are regular readers to my blog - I really do love hearing the comments I get from you all, and always do try to get back to you as soon as I can. Welcome to those of your who are new followers as well.

Thank you for reading :)

Spoilt Rotten

This week has been so hectic with Pancake day and Valentines day all in the same week, the week has flown by! For about the first time in 6 months I am not working all weekend, I actually don't know what I'm going to do with my self?!

I'm always such a big child when it comes to Pancake day, I remember when I was younger me and my sister used to have competitions on who could eat the most! This year I only made 4, I have taken a photo of 2 of them to share with you. As fun as pancakes are it always does make me wonder why we don't have cake day, or chocolate day? - Any body know?

My lent is now in full swing - I haven't gone too mad on what I'm giving up this year as I know I won't keep it if I give up too much. So I have decided to give up Cake and Crisps. I was debating giving up chocolate but who am I kidding!

I was well a truly spoilt this Valentines day my boyfriend Jack. He treated me to some gorgeous roses, a candle, a photo frame, some chocolates from Hotel Chocolat and a £20 voucher for Jamie's Italian. He also cooked me dinner, he made Salmon Teriyaki, which is one of my favourite dishes from YoSushi. I got him a selection of things from Topman, some chocolates and some David Beckham by H&M boxers.

This morning I went to a Spinning Class at my local gym. It the first time I've done any exercise in about a year... and the first time I'd done a spin class in about two! I used to love my old spin class, but I have to say this mornings class was a struggle. I am aiming to go once a week at least... so hopefully I will improve over time. As weird as it sounds but its all about the music when it comes down to exercise for me. If there isn't a good beat, then I simply am not motivated.

Lastly... I am debating weather of not to take the plunge and splash out on London Fashion Week tickets. I don't get paid till next Friday, and have about £3 to last me until then. Are any of you going/have you been? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Would love to see anyones photos from Pancake day, or hear what any of your got up to on Valentines day. I always love hearing your feedback.

Thanks for reading.
