2014... My Year!

So it doesn't feel quite right that I am doing my year recap for 2014, as I remember like it was yesterday doing my 2013 recap on my blog! I don't think I feel ready for it to be 2015 yet! I can't quite believe how quickly this year has passed and with a new year on its way there also comes a time to reflect on this year.

2014 has been a great year but also has been a real eye opener - both for good and bad reasons. At the time some events which I was faced with seemed so hard to over come but I am a strong believer for the fact that everything happens for a reason. I have learnt a huge amount about myself, life and other people from what 2014 has thrown at me. Most of all I couldn't have got through the past couple of months without my friends and family.
It really has been a great year - I started my new job in January which I enjoy so much, I turned 21 in June, I have travelled a lot - Egypt, Spain (twice), New York and Rome. I am starting college again next year which is something I'm feeling a little anxious about as I've been out of education for over 3 years now, and after quitting uni I know it will take a while for me to adapt too but I am looking forward to it at the same time.

I am sure that the next year will bring its challenges but I am really looking forward to a fresh start. I don't bother with new years resolutions but the first thing I am going to achieve will be my first ever half marathon and the rest, well we will see what the year brings! Wishing you all the very best for 2015, and thank you to all of you who continue to read my blog - I appreciate it so much.

Remembrance Sunday

So I took a trip up to London on Remembrance Sunday to see the poppies which were displayed at the Tower of London. I had heard so much about the poppies all over the news, and of course it is for a fantastic cause. There was a total of 888,246 poppies, each representing those who died in the 1st world war.

Expectedly it was really busy around the Tower of London, but I am really glad I got the opportunity to go and see the poppies as it was incredible and really was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I spent the rest of the day wondering around St Katherine's Dock, and the Thames. I went to Shoreditch indoor market, then onto Southbank for some street food.

Baby Blue

I had my eye on this coat in Zara back in the summer, but to pay nearly £70 for a coat in summer didn't quite seem right...or fit my budget!
It was only when I was browsing on eBay a few weeks back that I found the exact coat for a fraction of the price! It came from China, so as expected it took a while to arrive but I love it.

I've been pretty busy for the past month or so, and sadly blogging has been the least of my worry so sorry again so the lack of posts.
I am heading off to Rome in 2 weeks time for a family holiday, its been years since we all went away together. I'm really looking forward to getting away, and indulging eating lots of italian food. If any of you have any suggestions of places to eat, or things to do I would greatly appreciate it.

Early Bird Catches The Worm.

So its pretty rare that I am out of bed before 12pm on a Sunday let alone up being up out and in time for breakfast! I went to Aqua is Portishead marina. I've eaten at the Aqua in Bristol before for dinner which was really good, and breakfast certainly did not disappoint.

The menu was quite small, but all the options you needed and for a great price. I was debating having a full english or pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, but I went for something completely different and tried eggs benedict which was so yummy!

After breakfast we went for a walk in the woods to burn off our food. In the photos I'm wearing a new purchase from Topshop... a polka dot dress. Sadly summer has nearly gone away and it was too nippy to wear without tights!

September Issue

So September is here and with that follows Autumn. My favourite fashion season! Of course this is every girls excuse to go out a go and buy a winter coat. In all the shops at the moment its as if summer was never here, with coats, jackets, and jumpers everywhere it is hard to resist!

I came across this beautiful checked coat in Topshop - I had actually had my eye on it for quite a while but in July I couldn't possibly justify buying a coat!

Notting Hill Carnival 24/08/14

So for the first year ever I headed down to Notting Hill Carnival! I had been looking forward to it for ages, especially as I had heard such good things from people who had been in previous years. I had never seen London like that. Just even getting to the carnival on the tube was chaos but got there in there end.

The whole atmosphere was amazing. It was so weird seeing Notting Hill like this, as I have only been used to seeing it with the market and normally quite a quiet area. It was the fiftieth notting hill carnival and over one million people went over the two days.

The actual carnival was so fun to watch and dance along too. Some people had some amazing costumes. It was so nice to see everyone in full spirit, even the people who live in the area opened up their houses selling drinks, food, and sharing their toilets! There was road closed off where street parties were taking place. We stopped at several stages, watched the local DJ's and danced away! I brought some goat curry and jerk chicken throughout the day, which both tasted amazing.

As much as I would love to share with you the over 100 photos I took I had to be selective to a few! Enjoy!
